Jerome Jolly posted his team-leading fourth assist of the year vs Saint Louis
WESTFIELD, Ind. - Xavier men's soccer dropped a 3-1 match vs Saint Louis on Friday afternoon at the Grand Park Sports Campus. The Musketeers moved to 2-2 on the year, while the Billikens improved to 4-1.
14' | SLU | Chandler Vaugh scored his first goal of the season with a shot from just outside the top left corner of the box. He scored off a loose ball that was deflected inside the box following a Billiken corner kick.
24' | SLU | Mason Leeth scored his second goal of the season off a header just outside the net. Patrick Wilkinson was credited with an assist for crossing the ball from the left side of the field.
48' | XU | Felix Boe-Tangen scored his first goal of the season off a header just outside the net. The set piece was played off a corner kick from Jerome Jolly.
82' | SLU | Simon Becher scored his second goal of the season off a long ball played from Chandler Vaugh. The pass got behind the Xavier backline and Becher was able to beat the Xavier goalkeeper in a 1v1 situation.
• Felix Boe-Tangen scored his first goal of the season vs Saint Louis. The forward now has five career goals.
• Jerome Jolly now has a team-leading four assists on the year.
• Senior Matthew Rosenberg (2-2) made three saves in the match. He now has a 1.47 goals against average in 367 minutes of action this season.
• Saint Louis held an 11-9 advantage in shots and committed one more foul (12-11). Xavier had six more corner kicks (7-1) than the Billikens.
