Baylor Tops Musketeers in Game Two in Waco

Game three with Bears set for 2:00 p.m. ET tomorrow
Baylor took a two-run lead in the second, then Xavier responded in the top of the third, evening the score at 2-2 after RBIs from Tyler DeMartino and Alex Helmin. The Bears added a run in the fourth, taking a 4-3 lead into the sixth inning when Jack Krumbach used a single to bring Luke Stephenson and Helmin home to give Xavier a 4-3 lead.
The Xavier lead held until the Bears posted seven runs in the bottom of the seventh, then added another in the eighth to make it a seven run lead, 11-4, the final score.
The Musketeers and the Bears close out the series on Sunday, March 14, with first pitch set for 2:00 p.m. ET.

- Jack Krumbach picked up two RBI on a single in the sixth inning. He finished 1-3 with a walk for the day.
- Tyler DeMartino finished 2-4 on the day, picking up an RBI in the second inning.
- Alex Helmin picked up a RBI and score a run, going 1-3 with a double, and taking a walk.
- Jared Cushing (1-4) finished with a hit and scored a run for the Musketeers.
- Luke Stephenson and Grant Stephenson each scored a run for the Musketeers.
- Jackson Kaplowitz pinch hit in the ninth inning, hitting a double to give the Musketeers a base runner with one out.

- Nick Zwack went 5.1 inning in his third start of the season, allowing two earned runs on eight hits, striking out three while walking two. Zwack had a no-decision, finishing the day with a 1.06 ERA for the season.
- Jonathan Kelly came in for the final two outs of the sixth, going for 1.1 innings, facing 12 batters, with six earned runs scoring on five hits and two walks.
- Evan Miller entered for the final out of the seventh, getting a fly out to get the Musketeers out of the inning.
- Connor Bailey pitched the eighth, allowing just one hit with one run scoring, unearned, and striking out one Bear.

3RD INNING | Grant Stephenson aned Jared Cushing singled to lead off the inning, bringing Tyler DeMartino to the plate with two on and no outs. DeMartino singled through the left side to bring Stephenson home, cutting into the Baylor lead, 2-1. Natale Monastra took a walk to load the bases, and after a pair of outs, Alex Helmin also took a base on balls to send Cushing home to make it 2-2.
6TH INNING | Luke Stephenson led off the inning, reaching on an error, and Alex Helmin hit a double to right center to put two runners in scoring position for Jack Krumbach. Krumbach singled up the middle to bring in two runs and put the Musketeers ahead 4-3.
