Xavier took 11 more shots (18-7) than the Golden Eagles on Wednesday

MILWAUKEE - Xavier men's soccer fell at No. 25 Marquette, 2-1, on Wednesday afternoon at Valley Fields. The Musketeers moved to 3-5-1 (0-3-1 BIG EAST), while the Golden Eagles improved to 5-1-1 (2-1-1 BIG EAST).

NOTABLE

• Justus Kauppinen scored his third career goal (first at Xavier) vs the Golden Eagles. He now has four points on the year (one goal, two assists).

• Karsen Henderlong recorded the assist on Kauppinen's goal, his second assist of the season. He now has a team-leading 16 points on the year (seven goals, two assists).

• Justus Kauppinen took a match-high five shots (four on goal), while Karsen Henderlong added four shots (one on goal). Jerome Jolly chipped in three shots (one on goal) for the Musketeers.

• Matthew Rosenberg (2-5-1) made four saves in goal for the Musketeers.

• Xavier held an 18-7 advantage in shots and had two more shots on goal (8-6) than the Golden Eagles. Xavier also took two more corner kicks (5-3). Marquette committed four more fouls (16-12) than the Musketeers.
