PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Xavier men's soccer dropped a 3-2 match at No. 24 Providence on Saturday afternoon at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium.

The Musketeers moved to 6-3 (0-2 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Friars improved to 6-1-1 (2-0-0 BIG EAST).

NOTABLE

• Karsen Henderlong scored two goals in the match, increasing his season total to five goals to pace the Musketeers. The forward now has 19 career goals and three career multi-goal games.

• Xavier gave up more than one goal in a match for the first time this season. The Musketeers had only allowed four goals on the year entering the match.

• Providence held a 15-6 advantage in shots and had four more shots on goal (8-4). The Friars also committed eight more fouls (12-4) and had five more corner kicks (5-0).

• Karsen Henderlong led the Musketeer attack with three shots (two on goal ), while Felix Boe-Tangen added two shots (one on goal).

• Xavier moved to 3-6-1 in the all-time series vs the Friars, including a 0-3-1 mark in matches played in Providence. Xavier has now dropped three straight in the series.

• Matthew Rosenberg (6-3) took the loss in goal. The senior goalkeeper made a season-high five saves.

• Five Musketeers played all 90 minutes: Matthew Rosenberg, Taylor Crull, Cameron Belle, Pol Hernandez and Karsen Henderlong.
