Women's Tennis Opens Up Spring Dual Schedule with Northern Kentucky and Dayton

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis will open up the spring dual schedule for 2022 this weekend, hosting Northern Kentucky on Friday, January 14 at 6:00 p.m. at Eastern Hills. The Musketeers return to the courts on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 5:00 p.m. to host Dayton.ONENT INFO

 NORTHERN KENTUCKY |
- NKU went 7-6 overall last spring, and 4-4 in Horizon League play.
- The Musketeers picked up a 5-2 win over the Norse last spring, taking the doubles point with a sweep of all three courts, and picking up wins on courts No. 1-4.
- The match with Xavier is Northern Kentucky's first dual of the spring.

- The Flyers went 5-14 last spring, with a 0-2 A10 record.
- Dayton fell, 4-0, to Duquesne in the first round of the Atlantic 10 Championship.
- The Musketeers took a 7-0 win over the Flyers in Dayton last spring.
- The match with Xavier is Dayton's first dual of the spring. Â

 LAST TIME OUT |
- Xavier's women's tennis closed out the fall schedule at the John Cade Invitational at Mississippi State.
- Kat Lyman and Imani Graham each collected a pair of singles wins during the three day event. Lyman picked up wins over Nelson of Denver, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, and Chaika from Louisville, 6-1, 6-2, to finish the weekend 2-1 in singles play.
- Graham defeated Mississippi's Zadori 7-6(3), 7-5, and Louisville's Verma 6-4, 7-5 to also finish 2-1. Graham also combined with Anna Roggenburk to pick up a singles win against Louisville, taking a 6-1 win over Sawyer and Verma.
- Roggenburk also picked up a singles win, 6-4, 6-1, over Memphis' Meyer. Ahmeir Kyle defeated Sawyer of UofL 6-3, 6-1, Anna Smith picked up a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 over Burger from Denver and Blessing Nwaozuzu took a 6-4, 6-4 over Richardson of Louisville.Â

 THE MUSKETEERS |
- Xavier returned seven letterwinners from last season's BIG EAST Championship squad, including Ahmeir Kyle and Anna Roggenburk, who were were unanimous selections to the All-BIG EAST First Team.Â
- Roggenburk also earned the nod as Freshman of the Year for the conference while Kyle became the first Musketeer to qualify for the NCAA DI Singles Championship.
- The Musketeers also return all-conference honoree Kat Lyman, who earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team.
- Xavier added a pair of newcomers as well in graduate transfer Anna Smith, joining the Musketeers from Marshall, as well as freshman Bella Kirby.
- The Musketeers also added a mid-year transfer in graduate student Anne-Sophie Courteau. She comes to Xavier from West Virginia, where she collected over 75 combined wins in four seasons, including 44 singles wins and 34 doubles wins.
