Musketeers and Wildcats face off at 1:30 p.m.
CINCINNATI - Â Xavier men's tennis hosts the Villanova Wildcats on Friday afternoon at Eastern Hills, set for a 1:30 p.m. start.
Following the match with Villanova, Xavier (9-5)Â heads out on the road to face Belmont on Friday, April 1 in Nashville, Tenn.

- Villanova is 2-9 on the season, with wins over Jefferson and Coppin State.
- The Wildcats went 9-11 last season, not playing a regular season BIG EAST match.
- VU fell 4-1 to Marquette in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals.

- Xavier men's tennis closed out its trip to Michigan with a 6-1 loss to Michigan State on Friday, March 18.
- Xavier took the early lead with two tightly contested doubles wins. Brett Winters and Cambell Nakayama falling 6-1 on the No. 2 court in the first decision, but Charlie Temming and Shashank Reddy battled 7-6 (7-2) win on the No. 3 court and Diego Nava and Ryan Cahill clinched the point with a 7-6 (7-4) win on the No. 1 court.
- MSU pulled into a 1-1 tie with a 6-4, 6-3 win on the No. 4 court against Temming and went ahead with a 6-3, 6-0 win against Caden Kammerer on the No. 6 court.
- The Spartans took a 3-1 lead on the No. 3 court with 7-5, 6-2 win over Ryan Cahill and clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Diego Nava on the No. 1 court, ending Nava's nine-match win streak.
- Michigan State picked up the final two decisions, taking the No. 5 court 7-5, 6-1 over Marco Pennelli and the No. 2 court 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 1-0 (10-5) against Brett Winters to set the final score at 6-1

- The Musketeers returned eight letter-winners from last season, including Brett Winters, who competed primarily in Xavier's No. 1 singles spot, as well as regular singles players Cambell Nakayama, Shashank Reddy and Aaron Thompson. Dominic Macaluso, Pascal Mosberger and Jake Zipoli also return for Xavier.
- Xavier added five newcomers, including a three-person freshman class, Ryan Cahill, Marco Pennelli and Charlie Temming.
- The Musketeers newcomers also included a pair of transfers, Nick Loudermilk from College of Charleston and Diego Nava from Loyola Marymount.
