Xavier returns to action on Saturday against DePaul

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis fell 4-3 to Marquette on Friday evening. The Musketeers wrap up the regular season on Saturday, facing DePaul at 4:30 PM ET in Chicago.

THE MATCH

In doubles action, Xavier took the first decision, with Charlie Temming and Marco Pennelli taking a 6-2 win on the No. 3 court. Shashank Reddy and Brett Winters fell 6-4 on the No. 2 court, but Ryan Cahill and Diego Nava clinched the point on the No. 1 court, 7-5.

In singles play, Xavier picked up a pair of points, with Ryan Cahill taking a 6-1, 7-6 win on the No. 3 court, and Diego Nava picking up a come-back win in three sets, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6.

Marquette picked up a pair of two set wins, a 6-0, 6-3 win over Brett Winters on the No. 2 court and a 6-4, 6-4 win over Caden Kammerer on the No. 6 court.

The Golden Eagles also picked up three set wins on the No. 4 court, 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 against Charlie Temming, and on the No. 5 court, 3-6, 7-6, 6-1, against Marco Pennelli.
