Women's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season with 4-3 Win Over DePaul

CHICAGO - Xavier women's tennis closed out the regular season with a 4-3 win over the DePaul Blue Demons in Chicago to move to 11-9 on the season.
Xavier travels to Cayce, S.C. next week to take part in the BIG EAST Championship, which kicks off on Thursday, April 21.

In doubles action, Xavier picked up the first decision, a 6-2 win for Kat Lyman and Anna Smith on the No. 3 court. DePaul picked up a 6-2 win on the No. 1 court against Ahmeir Kyle and Emily Thomas, and a 6-4 win over Anna Roggenburk and Imani Graham on the No. 2 court to take the point.
Anna Roggenburk picked up a 6-1, 6-1 win on the No. 4 court to pull the Musketeers into a 1-1 draw. Anna Smith picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win on the No. 5 court to put the Musketeers in front, 2-1.
Kat Lyman took a 6-1, 6-3 win on the No. 3 court to make it a 3-1 Xavier lead. Ahmeir Kyle clinched the match with a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (2) win on the No. 1 court, putting Xavier up 4-1.
DePaul picked up the final two points, a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win over Blessing Nwaozuzu on the No. 6 court and a 7-6 (7), 6-4 win against Imani Graham on the No. 2 court to set the final score at 4-3 in favor of Xavier.
