No. 3 Seeded Women's Tennis Opens BIG EAST Championship Play with No. 6 Georgetown

Musketeers and Hoyas meet in Quarterinals on Friday at 4:30 PM in Cayce, S.C.
CINCINNATI - Â Xavier women's tennis earned the No. 3 seed for the BIG EAST Championship, and opens up play in the 2022Â BIG EAST Championship on Friday, April 22 against the No. 6 seeded Georgetown Hoyas at 4:30 PM. The Musketeers are looking for a second-straight, and third overall, BIG EAST title.
The winner of the match moves on to the BIG EAST Semifinals where they will face the winner of No. 2 Marquette and No. 7 Creighton on Saturday, April 23 at 1 PM.

- The 2022 BIG EAST Tennis Championships Presented by JEEP return to the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center in Cayce, S.C., from April 21-24.
- Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center will host the championship for the sixth consecutive year. The facility offers 30 lighted world-class courts with a championship-sized stadium court that has a viewing capacity of approximately 500 spectators. There are seven dedicated 38' courts for 8 & Under Tennis. Courts are complete with a small central gazebo, iced water coolers and electrical outlets on every court for ball-machine use.
- Seeds for the championships will be determined by a committee that reviews each team's regular-season schedule, ITA rankings, results against BIG EAST and common non-conference opponents and wins/losses against ranked foes.
- The Men's and Women's Championship matches will be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) Presented by SoFi on FloSports. Live coverage of the Men's Championship will begin on Sunday at 9 a.m. ET, while the live broadcast of the Women's Championship gets underway at 1 p.m.
- There is no charge for admission. Merchandise will be available for purchase through Shop.BIGEAST.com.

- St. John's earned the No. 1 seed after going 17-5 overall with a perfect 7-0 record against the conference. The Red Storm will face No. 9 UConn in the Quarterfinals.
- No. 2 seed Marquette went 12-9 in the regular season with a 5-2Â record against BIG EAST schools. The Golden Eagles will face No. 7 Creighton on Friday.
- Xavier earned the No. 3 seed after going 11-9 on the season with a 2-1 record against BIG EAST opponents. The Musketeers face No. 6 Georgetown in the Quarterfinals, the first match-up for the program against the Hoyas since facing GU in the Quarterfinals of the 2019 BIG EAST Championship, a 4-1 win for the Musketeers.
- No. 4Â seed DePaul enters the post season at 7-8 on the season and 4-3 against BIG EAST schools. They open play against No. 5 Butler.
- The fifth-seeded Bulldogs are 8-13 overall and 1-2 against league schools entering the tournament.
- No. 6 Georgetown topped No. 11 Providence 4-0 in the First Round of the Tournament. The Hoyas are 9-12 on the season overall and were 4-3 against BIG EAST schools entering the tournament.
- No. 7 Creighton took a 4-1 win over No. 10 Seton Hall in the BIG EAST First Round, moving the Bluejays to 12-7 overall with a 2-2 record against conference opponents.
- No. 9 UConn advanced to the quarterfinals with a 4-0 win over No. 8 seed Villanova in the First Round and are now 10-11 on the season with a 3-3 record against BIG EAST teams.

- Ahmeir Kyle has played 14 matches in the No. 1 singles spot, earning an 8-6 record for the season, including a win over a nationally ranked opponent.
- Imani Graham collected a team-high 13 wins during the regular season, with a 8-5 record in the No. 2 spot and a 5-1 record playing No. 1 singles.
- Kat Lyman has nine wins on the season in singles play, with a 6-3 record in the No. 3 spot, and a 2-0 record in the No. 2 spot. Lyman has also played five matches in No. 4.
- Anna Roggenburk also has nine wins on the season, going 6-1 in No. 4 singles. She also collected three more wins playing No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
- Anna Smith is 11-7 on the season, playing 10 matches, and collecting five wins, in the No. 5 spot. She also has a 4-0 record in No. 3 singles and went 2-2 in No. 4.
- Blessing Nwaozuzu has five wins on the season, collecting a 3-1 record in the No. 4 spot, and also earning wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 spot.
- Anne-Sophie Courteau also has five singles wins during the regular season, going 3-1 in the No. 5 spot and picking up two wins in the No. 6 spot.
- Emily Thomas has a 5-0 record in singles play, with a 4-0 record in No. 6 and another win in No. 5 singles.
- Bella Kirby picked up a win in No. 6 singles and Natalie Moyer also played a pair of matches in the No. 6 spot.
