The Musketeers are looking to win their third straight conference title
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's golf travels to the BIG EAST Championships on April 21-23. The three-day tournament is being held at the Callaway Resort Mountain View Course in Pine Mountain, Ga.
Xavier looks to win its third straight BIG EAST Championship, becoming only the second team to win three titles in a row. Seton Hall won three straight championships from 2014-16.

• Xavier ranks first in the BIG EAST via GolfStat rankings, averaging a score of 299.23 through nine tournaments (26 rounds). Seton Hall ranks second with an average score of 302.17 (nine tournaments, 23 rounds). Nationally, the Musketeers rank 96th in the GolfStat Team Standings.
• The Musketeers have the two highest ranked golfers in the BIG EAST in Emma McMyler (No. 1) and Kara Carter (No. 2) this season. McMyler has an average score of 73.38 and Carter has an average score of 73.69.
• Abby Kiefer is also in the top-10 in the GolfStat rankings for BIG EAST golfers, ranking seventh with an average score of 76.19.

• Xavier won its second straight BIG EAST Championship on April 25, 2021. The three-day tournament was held at the Club at Gateway in Fort Myers, Fla.
• The Musketeers posted a 54-hole total of 891 (+27) to win the team title, finishing 13 strokes ahead of Seton Hall (904, +40). Xavier recorded its best round of golf on Sunday (April 25), hitting seven-over-par (295).
• Senior Morgan Tinsley won the individual title with a score of 221 (+5), the first tournament title of her career. Xavier has claimed the individual title for the second straight conference championship as Mikayla Fitzpatrick won the 2019 title.
• Xavier has seven top-two finishes dating back to the spring of 2021 (four tournament titles; three runner-up finishes).
• Freshman Kara Carter has five top-10 finishes this season. Sophomore Emma McMyler also has three top-10 finishes and was the individual champion at the Bradley Coyote Classic.
• Head coach Breanna Jenco is in her seventh season with the Musketeers. She earned BIG EAST Coach of the Year honors in the spring of 2021, picking up the accolades for the third time in her career.
• Xavier returns two letterwinners from its 2021 BIG EAST Championship team roster in Abby Kiefer and Emma McMyler. Both players tied for eighth at the conference championships.
• Emma McMyler was also named the 2021 BIG EAST Freshman and Player of the Year, becoming the first golfer to earn both awards in the same season since Notre Dame's Lindsey Weaver in 2013. She led all BIG EAST players in lowest scoring average (73.59), while ranking 113th nationally.
• Xavier also returns Kayla Benge, Erin Kim and Abby Whittington. Kim played two rounds at the NCAA Louisville Regional as a substitute (injury) for Abby Kiefer.

• Xavier won the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic on Oct. 10, capturing the team's lone tournament title of the fall season. The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 871 (+7), ranking first in a field of 12 teams. The tournament title was the Musketeers first since capturing the BIG EAST Championships on April 25, 2021. Xavier also won the Georgia State Tournament on March 30, 2021.
• Emma McMyler posted a 54-hole score of 206 (-10) to rank first in a field of 65 golfers at the Bradley Coyote Classic. The sophomore golfer's score set a new school record for 54-hole scoring. The individual tournament title was the first of her Xavier career. She was also named the BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Oct. 13.
• Freshman Kara Carter had two top-five finishes in the fall. She placed second at the Bradley Coyote Creek Classic (Oct. 10) and fourth at the Palmetto Intercollegiate (Oct. 26).
• Xavier also won a match-play tournament (11-7) vs crosstown rival Cincinnati on Oct. 31.
• Emma McMyler also won the Sally Championship (amateur event) at Oceanside Country Club on Jan. 8.

• The winner of the BIG EAST Championships earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. The six NCAA Regionals will be played on May 9-11 at the following locations: Stanford, Calif., Franklin, Tenn., Albuquerque, N.M., Ann Arbor, Mich., Stillwater, Okla., Tallahassee, Fla.
• The 2022 Division I NCAA women's golf season will have six regional sites for the first time in its history this season. A total 12 teams and six individuals will be featured at each regional site.
• The NCAA Championships will be held on May 20-25 at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
• The NCAA Selection Show will be aired on the Golf Channel on Wednesday, April 27 at 4 p.m.
