Xavier takes the win over Cleveland State in a hard fought, down to the wire battle

BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Musketeers continued their hard work and came out on top for the second time today. Xavier took the match 3-2 (26-24, 23-25, 25-19, 22-25, 16-14) with multiple down to the wire sets. The win was the second for the Musketeers on the day and puts their season record at 2-0.

NOTABLES

• Senior setter Carrigan O'Reilly topped the charts for the Musketeers with 15 kills and recorded 25 assists, moving her to 103 assists from ninth in the record book for career assists.

• Sophomore setter Logan Flaugh earned the team high for the contest with 27 assists.

• O'Reilly and Flaugh combined for 52 assists against Cleveland State.

• Sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro dished up three service aces against the Vikings that played a significant role in each of the tight sets. Corsaro also added 19 more digs to her daily total to raise the number to 40.

• Senior Alyssa Overbeck recorded the team high between both contests for digs when she tallied up 25.

• Senior middle blocker Delaney Hogan added five additional block assists to her three from the earlier contest totaling eight on the day.

• Overall, the squad maintained a 50% or higher attack by set percentage in eight of the 10 sets.

• Xavier lengthens the lead in the all-time series with Cleveland State to 4-0.
