Jolly scores two goals; Xavier moves to 5-0-1 on the year

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Jerome Jolly scored two goals on Monday night, leading the Xavier men's soccer team to a 3-1 road win at Northern Kentucky.

Xavier improved to 5-0-1 on the year, while the Norse dropped to 2-4.

NOTABLE

• Jerome Jolly scored two goals in the match, his first career multi-goal game. The midfielder now has a team-high three goals on the year, increasing his career total to seven goals. The Garstang, England, native is the second Musketeer to have a two-goal performance this season as Fabrizio Bernal De La Garza tallied two goals in the win over Robert Morris on Sept. 4 (W, 3-0).

• Eli Dulle scored his second goal of the season in the 82nd minute. The UIndy transfer now has six career goals (four game-winning goals).

• Alejandro Steinwascher was credited with an assist on the final goal, his team-leading second assist of the season. The forward now has 27 career assists.

• Cole Jensen (5-0-1) made three saves in 90 minutes of action. He allowed only his second goal of the season, snapping a streak of 292 scoreless minutes between the two goals. The Council Bluffs, Iowa, native now has a 0.33 goals against average on the year.

• Xavier took a season-high 20 shots and a season-high 11 shots on goal. Jerome Jolly led six Musketeers with multiple shots with a match-high seven shots (three on goal). Xavier's defense limited the Norse to only five shots (four on goal).

• Xavier also took four more corner kicks (6-2) than Northern Kentucky, while the Norse committed three more fouls (4-1).

• Xavier moves to 4-0 all-time vs Northern Kentucky. Monday's meeting was the first regular-season contest between the two schools since Sept. 18, 1991.
