
No. 19 Women's Soccer Falls at Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill.- No. 19 Xavier women's soccer suffered its first setback of the season on Sunday afternoon, falling 2-0 at Northwestern to move to 4-1-1 on the season.
The Wildcats struck quickly, knocking in the game winner in the first five minutes of the match, and adding an insurance goal less than 10 minutes later. NU held the offensive advantage in the first 45 minutes, out-shooting Xavier 8-3, with a 5-1 advantage on shots on-goal.
Xavier created pressure for the Northwestern defense in the second half, taking six second half shots, with three looks on-frame, but were unable to score, setting the final score at 2-0
The Musketeers return to Corcoran Field for three straight home matches to wrap up the non-conference, beginning with Saint Louis on Thursday, September 8 at 7:00 p.m.
