Four Musketeers Score in Double Figures, Xavier Tops Jacksonville on Friday Night

Xavier defeated the Dolphins, 79-56, at Cintas Center
CINCINNATI - Four Musketeers scored in double figures on Friday night as Xavier moved to 2-0 on the year with a 79-56 victory over Jacksonville.
The Dolphins (1-1) led 4-2 in the opening minutes of the game before the Musketeers went on a 14-2 run - taking their first double-figure lead of the game (16-6) with 13:51 on the clock. Xavier never relinquished its advantage and led by as many as 15 points (33-18) in the first half with 3:33 on the clock.
Jacksonville battled back to close within five points (45-40) with 13:20 left in regulation. Xavier outscored the Dolphins, 28-11, over the next 10 minutes of action to take its first 20-point advantage (73-51) of the game.
The Musketeers had their largest lead of the game, 79-55, with 1:18 left in regulation.

- Quincy Olivari scored a game-high 17 points on 3-for-9 shooting. The guard was also 9-for-10 from the foul line. He added four rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Dailyn Swain added 15 on 4-for-6 shooting with a pair of three pointers. The Columbus, Ohio, native added four rebounds, three assist and three steals in 25 minutes off the bench.
- Desmond Claude chipped in 12 points on 5-for-13 shooting. Trey Green rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points on 4-for-11 shooting.
- Gytis Nemeikša scored nine points on 4-for-9 shooting. He added three assists, two rebounds and one steal.
- Jacksonville won the battle on the glass, 48-41. Abou Ousmane pulled down a game-high eight rebounds to go along with nine points.
- Xavier held a 23-7 advantage in points off of turnovers. The Musketeers had 10 steals and forced 17 turnovers.
- Xavier posted a .397 (25-for-63) field-goal percentage and went 7-for-29 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 22-for-30 from the foul line. Defensively, the Musketeers held the Dolphins to a .348 field-goal percentage (23-for-66).
