LAS VEGAS - Four Musketeers hit double figures, led by 14 points for Dayvion McKnight, as Xavier took the 66-49 win over Saint Mary's in the Continental Tire Main Event third place game at T-Mobile Arena. Xavier moved to 3-2 on the season.
After Saint Mary's opened the game with a 5-0 lead, Xavier scored nine unanswered to move in front. The Gaels would go on an 8-2 run midway through the first half to tie it up, 18-18, going into the final six minutes of the half, but the Musketeers scored 10 unanswered to close out the half, taking its largest lead of the first half, 28-18, into halftime. Quincy Olivari led all scores in the first half with nine points.
Xavier continued its run to start the second half, outscoring the Gaels 20-4 over a nine minute stretch to take control of the game. The Musketeers would lead by as many as 19 in the second half, with Dayvion McKnight leading the way with points after the break, and Desmond Claude adding nine. Saint Mary's would get as close as 10, 52-42, in the final seven minutes of the game before Xavier re-extended the lead, taking the 66-49 win.

- Quincy Olivari finished with 12 points after scoring a team-high nine points in the first half on three made threes.
- Desmond Claude added 11 for the Musketeers, scoring nine in the second half. He led Xavier with seven assists as the Musketeers dished out 17 assists for the game.
- Trey Green finished with 10 points, shooting 3-6 from the floor and 3-3 from the line.
- Saša Ciani made his first start as a Musketeer and led Xavier with six rebounds. Saint Mary's finished with a 50-40 advantage on the boards, but Xavier held a 34-30 advantage on the defensive glass.
- Xavier shot 48.2 percent from the floor while holding the Gaels to 25.7 percent shooting.
- The win was Sean Miller's 150th as head coach at Xavier.
