Michigan was our programs first top 25 competition and it was a tough matchup for us. Our four defenders proved how they can shut down their marks in a big way. Katelyn McDonnell took a huge step forward as a player and I'm excited to see her carry that through conference.
In a game like this, you really expose the mentality of the team. We played gritty, no question. I would have liked to see us play with more edge, more bite both on the draw and on the offensive side of the ball. I believe we have that in us and we will look to pull that out this next week in practice before entering conference play against Butler.
Michigan has done a great job in their 10 years as a program. I expect our program to be in a very similar position. We have the personnel, the university, and the support to do so.Â
