Seydou Diop scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer scored two, second-half goals on Sunday night, defeating Oakland, 2-1, at Corcoran Field.
The Musketeers improved to 1-0-1 on the year, while the Golden Grizzlies dropped to 0-2.

• Fabrizio Bernal de la Garza scored his first goal of the season off a rebounded shot that he took. The Golden Grizzlies goalkeeper was unable to control Bernal de la Garza's initial shot. Bernal de la Garza was able to find the back of net on the deflected save, his fifth career goal.
• Seydou Diop scored his first goal of the season in the 68th minute. The freshman forward was fouled in the box and scored on the ensuing penalty kick.
• Xavier took 14 more shots (24-10) than the Golden Grizzlies, including seven more shots on goal (13-6). The 24 shots are the most in a match for the Musketeers since Aug. 24, 2018 (26 shots vs Cincinnati Christian). The Musketeers also took three more corner kicks (7-4) than Oakland.
• Taylor Rhinehart led the Musketeers in shots with eight (four on goal). Fabrizio Bernal de la Garza added three shots (three shots on goal), while Jerome Jolly had three shots (two shots on goal). Seydou Diop finished with two shots (two shots on goal).
• Xavier committed six more fouls (12-6) than Oakland and had three more yellow cards (4-1). The Musketeers played a man down the final 15 minutes of the match.
• Jonny Mennell (1-0-1) posted his first career win between the pipes, making five saves in 90 minutes of action.
