Women's Tennis Travels To IU for Hoosier Classic

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis heads to Bloomington, Ind. this weekend, taking part in the 2023 Hoosier Classic running Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 1. The Musketeers are one of six teams competing at the event, which is set to start at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday at IU Tennis Center outdoor courts.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Imani Graham and Anna Roggenburk are traveling to the ITA Women's All-American Championship in Cary, N.C., scheduled to run from Sept. 30 to Oct. 8.
Following the Hoosier Classic and ITA All-America, Xavier will head across town to take part in the UC/Pam Whitehead Invite on Oct. 6-7.
Action for the full team concludes at the ITA Fall Regional, held at Tennessee from Oct. 19 to Oct. 23.
The fall schedule wraps up with the ITA Fall Nationals, beginning on November 2 and running through Nov. 6 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, California.

FALL RESULTS

The Musketeers opened up the fall 2023 tournament schedule with a strong showing at the Flyer Invite, collecting 20 combined wins in the blind dual format while facing off with competitors from Dayton, Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati.
Xavier finished the weekend at 20-3 overall, with a 12-2 record in singles matches and an 8-1 record in doubles play.
As a squad, the Musketeers swept the Flyers, going 5-0 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles action, also picking up a fourth doubles win over Dayton in additional action.
Against NKU, Xavier collected eight wins total, going 5-0 in singles play and 3-0 in double action.
The Musketeers split six total matches with the Bearcats, going 3-3 overall, with a 2-2 record in singles play and splitting a pair of doubles matches

THE MUSKETEERS

Xavier returns six from last year's squad that brought home the program's third-straight, and fourth overall, BIG EAST Championship and earned Xavier's fourth bid to the NCAA Championships.
The 2022-23 Musketeers finished the season 14-8 overall with a 6-0 record against BIG EAST opponents.
Among Xavier's returnees are 2023 BIG EAST Player of the Year, Imani Graham, and BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, Abby Nugent.
Anna Roggenburk, Blessing Nwaozuzu, Emily Flowers and Abigail Siminski also return for the Musketeers.
Xavier added a pair of newcomers, Ellie Brotherton and Sofia Mazzucato.
