Musketeers host Norse Friday at EHI, Travel to Purdue on Sunday

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis opens up the spring with a pair of matches this weekend, getting the dual season underway on Friday, January 19, hosting Northern Kentucky at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club, set for a 2:00 p.m. start. The Musketeers then travel to West Lafayette, Ind., to face Purdue on Sunday, January 21 at noon.

OPPONENT INFO - NKU

This is the first match of the spring schedule for Northern Kentucky.
NKU went 10-9 overall last season with a 3-3 record in Horizon League matches. The Norse fell to Milwaukee, 4-2, in the Horizon League Championship Quarterfinals.
Xavier took a 7-0 win over NKU in last season's match-up. The Musketeers have a 15-0 record against the Norse going back to 2007-08.

OPPONENT INFO - PURDUE

The Boilermakers are 1-0 after taking a 7-0 win over Ball State last Sunday. Purdue will face Miami (Ohio) on Saturday.
Purdue went 15-8 overall and 6-5 in Big Ten matches last season, falling to Nebraska in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.
The Boilermakers took the 5-2 win over Xavier in last season's match-up.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Xavier returns to Cincinnati to host a pair of matches at Eastern Hills next weekend, starting with Yale on Friday, January 26 at 4:00 PM. The Musketeers wrap up the weekend on Saturday, Jan. 27 against Toledo at 4:30 PM at Eastern Hills.

THE MUSKETEERS

Xavier returns six from last year's squad that brought home the program's third-straight, and fourth overall, BIG EAST Championship and earned Xavier's fourth bid to the NCAA Championships.
The 2022-23 Musketeers finished the season 14-8 overall with a 6-0 record against BIG EAST opponents.
Among Xavier's returnees are 2023 BIG EAST Player of the Year, Imani Graham, and BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, Abby Nugent.
Anna Roggenburk, Blessing Nwaozuzu, Emily Flowers and Abigail Siminski also return for the Musketeers.
Xavier added a pair of freshmen, Ellie Brotherton and Sofia Mazzucato.
The Musketeers also added Elizabeth Pendergast, a transfer from Cincinnati, who joined the program in the 2024 spring semester.
