Five Musketeers Earn CSC Academic All-District

Galley, Flick, Hansson, Reed and Wiehe earn accolades from performance on and off the field.
CINCINNATI - Five Musketeers earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team, earning recognition for their work in the classroom as well as on the field. Emma Flick, Maria Galley, Elin Hansson, Maddie Reed and Samantha Wiehe each earned the designation, announced on Tuesday.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Emma Flick, a midfielder from Streetsboro, Ohio, started all 21 matches for the Musketeers, collecting 20 points on six goals and a team high-matching eight assists. Among her six goals were three game-winners, including a pair in BIG EAST matches, against DePaul and Creighton. She was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team following the season. Flick is a junior studying Finance at Xavier.
Maria Galley, a goalkeeper from South Windsor, Conn., started all 21 matches in-goal for the Musketeers. She posted a GAA of 0.82 for the season, finishing the campaign with 15 wins and nine complete shutouts. She was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team following the season. Galley is junior pursuing a degree in Biomedical Science
Elin Hansson, a forward from Halmsted, Sweden, played in all 21 matches for the Musketeers, starting in 10. She finished the season with 11 points on four goals and three assists, including goals against Seton Hall and against DePaul in the BIG EAST Tournament. Hansson is a junior studying Biophysics at Xavier.
Maddie Reed, a defender from Louisville, Ky., played in 18 matches, starting in 17. She totaled over 1,350 minutes for the Musketeer defense that limited opposing teams to just 18 goals on the season, collecting 10 shutouts for the year. She recorded her first career assist on Samantha Erbach's goal in Xavier's 2-1 win at Marquette. Reed is a graduate student who earned a degree in Primary Education from Xavier and is currently studying for a Master's in Sports Administration.
Samantha Wiehe, a midfielder from Northfield, Ohio, started all 21 matches for the Musketeers. She led Xavier with 28 points on 10 goals and eight assists, with her eight assists matching Emma Flick for team high. She led the country on PKs during the regular season, going 6-of-6 for the year, the only player in DI with six made penalty kicks during the regular season. She was named the BIG EAST Midfield of the Year and was a First Team All-BIG EAST selection. Wiehe is a senior studying Biomedical Science at Xavier.
