Women's Lacrosse Falls to San Diego State in Opening Weekend Finale
TEMPE, Ariz. - Xavier women's lacrosse fell to San Diego State 16-6 in the opening weekend finale Sunday afternoon.
The Musketeers conclude opening weekend at 0-2 (0-0 BIG EAST) and the Aztecs advance to 1-1Â (0-0 Pac-12).

• A pair of Musketeers, sophomore attacker Lola Mancuso and freshman midfielder Kirra Crowley, led the scoring efforts for Xavier, notching two goals apiece. The duo recorded 10 goals between themselves in the two games played.  Mancuso also led Xavier in shooting attempts with four shots on goal and six total shots.
• Among Mancuso and Crowley in the scoring efforts were redshirt senior attacker Jordan Miller with one goal and Katherine Prentice, the freshman midfielder, with her second career free position goal.
• In the net, sophomore goalkeeper Marina Piszczor saw three quarters of action, notching seven saves against the Aztecs.
• Sophomore midfielder Kiera Armitage led efforts in the draw circle with six controls, her career-third strongest outing. Prentice and junior midfielder Julie Cassidy continued the efforts with three draw controls apiece, a Xavier career-high for the pair, respectively. Â
• Gianna Cua tallied the team-high of three ground balls, a career-high for the sophomore midfielder. An additional four Musketeers recorded two ground balls against San Diego State - Mancuso, Prentice, Piszczor, and freshman midfielder Lily Hayes.
• On defense, freshman defender Colby Wasson had a career day, boasting three caused turnovers, tying the single-game record runner-up. With two caused turnovers, Cua also set a new career-high for the defensive statistic. Five additional Musketeers contributed to the defense, holding the Aztecs to just two goals in the second quarter and one goal in the fourth.

• The Musketeers totaled six goals, 17 shots on goal, 13 draw controls, 14 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and nine saves.
