Musketeers host a pair of BIG EAST opponents next weekend

MIAMISBURG, Ohio - Christian Gonzalez picked up a singles win as Xavier men's tennis fell, 6-1, to Dayton on Sunday afternoon at the South Regency Tennis Center.

Xavier will host a pair of BIG EAST foes next weekend, taking on Villanova on Friday, March 22 and then hosting Creighton on Saturday, March 23.

The Match

In doubles play, the Flyers picked up wins on all three courts, taking the No. 1 court, 6-2, against Ryan Cahill and Charlie Temming, the No. 2 court, 6-2, against Pascal Mosberger and Christian Gonzalez and the No. 3 court, 6-2, against Alex Adamec and Marco Pennelli, to take the point.

The Musketeers picked up a point on the No. 5 singles court, with Christian Gonzalez taking a 6-4, 6-4 decision for the Musketeers.

The Flyers took the No. 1 court, 6-4, 6-1 against Ryan Cahill and the No. 2 court, 6-0, 6-1, against Pascal Mosberger.

UD also took the No. 3 court, 7-5, 6-0, against Marco Pennelli, and the No. 4 court, 7-6 (7), 6-2, against Charlie Temming. Dayton also took court No. 6, 6-3, 6-2, against Jorge Santamaria.
