Cooper Forcellini scored the lone goal in Friday's 1-0 victory

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer opened BIG EAST action with a 1-0 win over St. John's on Friday night at Corcoran Field. The Musketeers improve to 3-2-3 (1-0 BIG EAST), while the Red Storm drop to 2-3-3 (0-1 BIG EAST).

Xavier continues non-conference action vs Evansville on Tuesday, Sept. 24 vs Evansville. First touch is set for 7 p.m. from Corcoran Field.

NOTABLES

Xavier moves to 3-1-1 when playing St. John's in Cincinnati. The Musketeers defeated the Red Storm for the first time since Oct. 8, 2016.
Xavier moved to 2-0-1 in BIG EAST openers in the John Higgins Era. The Musketeers move to 8-2-9 in conference action under Coach Higgins.
Xavier has posted 21 shutouts in 45 matches coached by John Higgins.
