Musketeers Open BIG EAST Volleyball Play at DePaul

DePaul ended Xavier's season last year in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament.
CHICAGO - The Xavier volleyball team opens up BIG EAST play on Wednesday against DePaul. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m. EST inside McGrath-Phillips Arena.Â
ÂThe Musketeers and Blue Demons kick off the 2024 BIG EAST volleyball season with the lone midweek matchup while the rest of the league opens conference play on Friday.
ÂXavier ended the preseason with a 2-8 record and looks to pick up the team's first win over DePaul on the road since 2020.

- Logan Flaugh ranks 4th in the BIG EAST and 41st in the NCAA with 10.10 assists per set. Her 49 assists in the sweep of Kent State is the most by any league player in a 3-set match this year.
- Xavier hit a season-best .375 vs Kent State, the fifth-best percentage by a BIG EAST team this season.
- Margo Kemp's team-leading .360 hitting percentage is the fifth-highest in the conference. She hit a career-high 13 kills against Kent State with only one error for a .667 clip, the highest hitting percentage by a BIG EAST player this season.
- Anna Taylor hit .545 against Kent State with 20 kills to break her career-high for the second-straight weekend. Her 20 kills are the second most in a three-set match by any league player this season.
- Freshman Kelsey Niesen recorded a career-high 19 digs in back-to-back matches and first two starts as libero. Her 19 in the sweep of Kent State is the fourth-most by any BIG EAST player in a three-set match.

- DePaul ended their preseason with an 8-4 record and currently fourth in the BIG EAST.
- Xavier has lost the past three matchups with DePaul, most recently a 1-3 loss in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament last season. The Musketeers still lead the all-time series, 21-10.
- The Blue Demons were picked to finish fourth in the conference ahead of the 2024 season after finishing fifth last year and making it to the conference semifinals.
- DePaul played in the NIVC Tournament last season and defeated Southern Illinois in the first round for the program's first ever postseason win.
- Libero Rachel Krasowski and outside hitter Jill Pressly were named to the All-BIG EAST Preseason Team. Pressly and Krasowski were named BIG EAST Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, after the Blue Demons went 3-0 in their season opener at the Bradley Tournament.
- Pressly leads the BIG EAST in kills per set (4.17) and ranks 35th nationally while Krasowski ranks 2nd in the BIG EAST in digs per set (4.54) for a 48th national rank.
- DePaul ranks second in the conference in both assists per set (12.74) and digs per set (16.04).
