Xavier opens its home schedule next weekend, hosting a pair of matches at Eastern Hills. The Musketeers host Lipscomb on Friday, January 24, then return on Saturday, January 25 to host Furman.
In doubles play, Ryan Cahill and Charlie Temming fell, 6-1, on the No. 1 court and Christian Gonzalez and Kyle Totorica fell, 6-3 on the No. 3 court to give Louisville the 1-0 advantage. Alex Kotarski and Pascal Mosberger trailed 5-4 on the No. 2 court when the point was decided.
In singles, a 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 1 court over Ryan Cahill made it a 2-0 Louisville advantage. Charlie Temming fell 6-3, 6-3 on the No. 3 court to make it a 3-0 lead for the Cardinals. A 6-1, 6-3 win on the No. 4 court over Marco Pennelli clinched the win for UofL on the No. 4 court.
Alex Kotarski picked up a 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (8) win on the No. 6 court to set the final score at 4-1.
