Musketeers face Bison at 2 PM on Friday, Paladins on 5 PM on Saturday

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis opens its home schedule this weekend, hosting a pair of matches at Eastern Hills. The Musketeers host Lipscomb on Friday, January 24, set for a 2:00 p.m. start, then return on Saturday, January 25 to host Furman at 5:00 p.m.

LIPSCOMB

The Bison enter the match with Xavier at 1-1 after opening the season with a 7-0 win over Cumberland and falling 7-0 to MTSU.
Lipscomb went 11-12 overall last season with a 5-3 record in ASUN play.
The two programs last played in the 2014-15 season, with Xavier taking a 5-2 win in Cincinnati.

FURMAN

The Paladins opened the season against No. 15 South Carolina, falling 7-0.
Furman went 13-12 overall last season with a 5-2 record in SoCon play.
The two teams faced each other last season in Greenville, S.C., with Xavier falling 5-2.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

The Musketeers remain at home next weekend, hosting Eastern Kentucky on Friday, January 31, at Eastern Hills.

LAST TIME OUT

Freshman Alex Kotarski picked up a singles win as the Musketeers fell 4-1 at Louisville on Monday.
In doubles play, Ryan Cahill and Charlie Temming fell, 6-1, on the No. 1 court and Christian Gonzalez and Kyle Totorica fell, 6-3 on the No. 3 court to give Louisville the 1-0 advantage. Alex Kotarski and Pascal Mosberger trailed 5-4 on the No. 2 court when the point was decided.
In singles, a 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 1 court over Ryan Cahill made it a 2-0 Louisville advantage. Charlie Temming fell 6-3, 6-3 on the No. 3 court to make it a 3-0 lead for the Cardinals. A 6-1, 6-3 win on the No. 4 court over Marco Pennelli clinched the win for UofL on the No. 4 court.
Alex Kotarski picked up a 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (8) win on the No. 6 court to set the final score at 4-1.

THE MUSKETEERS

Xavier returns six letter-winners from last year's squad, including All-BIG EAST Second Team selection Ryan Cahill.
The Musketeer also return Christian Gonzalez, Pascal Mosberger, Marco Pennelli, Charlie Temming and Kyle Totorica.
Xavier also added a pair of freshmen, Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck.
