Abby Nugent and Clara Owen Named BIG EAST Double Team of the Week

Pair went 2-0 over the weekend in No. 1 doubles spot
NEW YORK - Xavier women's tennis' duo of Abby Nugent and Clara Owen were named the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week after going 2-0 last weekend, the league office announced on Monday.
Nugent, a junior from Springboro, Ohio, and Owen, a freshman from Dayton, Ohio, picked up a 6-3 win on the No. 1 doubles spot as the Musketeers fell, 4-3, at Michigan State. The pair, who were ranked No. 17 in ITA most recent doubles rankings, also picked up the first decision in doubles against West Virginia on Saturday, helping the Musketeers take the doubles point in Xavier's 6-1 win over West Virginia at Michigan State.
Next weekend, the Musketeers travel to West Layfayette, Ind., facing Purdue on Friday, January 31, and then taking on Memphis on Saturday, February 1, at Purdue.
