Four Musketeers Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

All four men's soccer players have a 3.50 GPA or higher
CINCINNATI - Four Xavier men's soccer players were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
Cooper Forcellini, Jonny Mennell, Alejandro Silvestrini and Ezra Widman all earned the honors. Each player has over a 3.50 grade point average.
Forcellini is a senior finance major who played and started in all 15 matches. The midfielder finished the season with a team-high 22 points (10 goals, two assists), ranking third in the BIG EAST and 33rd in the NCAA.
Mennell is a senior accounting and finance major who played in 11 matches. The goalkeeper finished the season with 16 career wins (tied for fifth in school history), 19 career shutouts (tied for first in school history) and 156 career saves (ninth in school history). He also finished the year with a 1.09 career goals against average (sixth in school history).
Silvestrini is a junior marketing major who played in all 15 matches with seven starts. The midfielder had one assist on the year.
Widman is a junior sports management major who played in 15 matches with 10 starts. The midfielder logged 766 minutes and took six shots (two on goal).

AWARD CRITERIA
- Student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
- Nominee must be enrolled at their institution at the time of nomination as either an undergraduate or graduate student. Only the school at which an athlete competed in the current academic year can nominate that player.
- An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale).
- A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
- Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.
