Musketeers set to face Flames at 2 PM on Friday

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis wraps up a four-match homestand at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club this weekend, hosting UIC on Friday, February 7, set for a 2:00 p.m. start.

UIC

UIC is 2-2 on the season, with wins over UIndy and Marquette and setbacks against Northwestern and IU Indy.
The Flames went 10-11 overall last season with a 2-8 record in MAC play.
The two programs last faced off during the 2022-23 season, a 4-0 win for UIC in Cincinnati.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE

Xavier travels to Cleveland next weekend for a pair of matches, starting with Cleveland State on Friday, February 14 at 6:00 p.m.
The Musketeers remain at Cleveland State to face Ball State on Saturday, February 15 at 2:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

Xavier men's tennis picked up a 6-1 win over Eastern Kentucky on Friday afternoon at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.
In doubles play, Alex Kotarski and Pascal Mosberger combined for a 6-3 win on the No. 1 court, and Christian Gonzalez and Kyle Totorica secured the doubles point for the Musketeers with a 7-6 (3) win on court No. 3.
Marco Pennelli picked up the first decision in singles, taking a 6-0, 6-1 win on the No. 6 court to make it a 2-0 Xavier lead. Pascal Mosberger made it a 3-0 Xavier advantage with a 6-4, 6-1 win on the No. 2 court.
Alex Kotarski won on No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-3, to clinch the match for the Musketeers at 4-0 for Xavier's second win of the season.
Charlie Temming made it a 5-0 Xavier advantage, taking a 7-5, 7-6 (5) win on the No. 4 court. Christian Gonzalez took a 7-5, 7-6 (5) win on the No. 3 court to make it a 6-0 Musketeer lead.
On the final court, EKU picked up a win on the No. 1, with Ryan Cahill falling in three sets, 2-6, 7-5, 12-10, to set the final score at 6-1 in favor of the Musketeers.

THE MUSKETEERS

Xavier returns six letter-winners from last year's squad, including All-BIG EAST Second Team selection Ryan Cahill.
The Musketeer also return Christian Gonzalez, Pascal Mosberger, Marco Pennelli, Charlie Temming and Kyle Totorica.
Xavier also added a pair of freshmen, Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck.
