Mancuso Scores 100th Career Goal in Loss to Wofford

Lola Mancuso scored six goals for the second straight game.
CINCINNATI - The Xavier lacrosse team fell 14-12 to Wofford in a late game comeback by the Terriers.
Xavier is now 1-6 while the Terriers improve to 2-6 on the season.

Megan Droney scored the first goal of the game just over four minutes into the first period.
Wofford answered with two back-to-back goals, but Lola Mancuso tied it back up on a man-down goal for the Musketeers.
The Terriers responded quickly again with two more goals to take a 4-2 lead, but Mancuso had another answer for her 100th career goal.
Julie Cassidy evened it up once again for Xavier with time winding down in the first quarter.
The Musketeer offense exploded in the second period, outscoring the Terriers 5-2.Â
Cassidy and Mancuso both scored two goals in the second quarter to each record hat tricks as Xavier went into the break with a 9-6 lead.
Xavier out shot Wofford 22-14 in the first half.
Mancuso won the draw control to open the second half and quickly scored her fifth of the game assisted by Droney.
Cassidy followed up with her fourth goal of the game to take an 11-6 lead for the Musketeers, but the Terriers responded with four consecutive goals of their own.
Both teams went scoreless through the first seven minutes of the final period before Wofford tied it at 11-11.
Mancuso retook the lead for the Musketeers less than a minute later but the Terriers scored two more to take their first lead of the game at 13-12 with under three minutes to go.
Wofford added an insurance goal with a minute on the clock to secure the win.

The Musketeers host Louisville on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Corcoran Field.
