Women's Tennis Hosts DePaul on Saturday

Match set for 2 PM at the Jim and Mary Brockhoff Family Tennis Facility
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis returns home this weekend, hosting DePaul on Saturday, March 29, set for a 2:00 p.m. start at the Jim and Mary Brockhoff Family Tennis Facility on Xavier's campus.

DEPAUL
- The Blue Demons are 9-7 overall and 4-1 in BIG EAST matches this season, with wins over Georgetown, Creighton, Marquette and Butler and a loss to St. John's in conference action.
- DePaul went 17-8 last season, taking wins over Villanova and St. John's to advance to the BIG EAST Tournament Championship match, falling to the Musketeers, 4-2.
- Xavier also took a 4-0 win over the Blue Demons during the regular season, and enter this season's match-up with seven straight wins in the series.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- The Musketeers take on a pair of BIG EAST opponents next weekend, hosting Seton Hall on Friday, April 4 and traveling to Butler on Sunday, April 6.
LAST TIME OUT
- Xavier women's tennis took the 7-0 sweep of Dayton on Wednesday, marking Xavier's 23rd straight win over the Flyers, a streak that dates back to 2002.
- In doubles, Clara Owen and Abby Nugent picked up the first decision, a 6-1 win on the No. 1 court. Emily Flowers and Natalie Smitek took a 6-1 win on the No. 3 court to clinch the point.
- Clara Owen picked up the first singles decision, a 6-0, 6-0 win on the No. 6 court, to make it a 2-0 Xavier lead. Madeleine Rexroat made it a 3-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-1 win on the No. 3 court.
- Emily Flowers picked up 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 4 court, her team-high 11th singles win and sixth win in a row, to clinch the match at 4-0.
- Abby Nugent picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win on the No. 2 court and Abigail Siminski won on No. 5, 6-2, 6-2.
- Elizabeth Pendergast capped off the match with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win on the No. 1 court to seals the 7-0 win.
THE MUSKETEERS
- The Musketeers are looking for their fifth-straight, and sixth overall, BIG EAST Championship, and look to make a return trip to the NCAA Championship.
- Xavier returned six student-athletes from last year's BIG EAST Championship roster including juniors Emily Flowers, Abby Nugent and Abigail Siminski as well as sophomores Ellie Brotherton and Sofia Mazzucato and senior transfer Elizabeth Pendergast, who made her debut as a Musketeer this fall. Xavier also added a trio of freshmen to the roster, Clara Owen, Madeleine Rexroat and Natalie Smitek.
- Xavier wrapped up the fall schedule with Abby Nugent and Clara Owen becoming the first players in program history to compete in doubles at the NCAA Individual Championships. The pair earned the bid after advancing to the finals of the ITA Conference Masters Championships.
- Madeleine Rexroat also took part in the ITA Conference Masters Championships, representing the BIG EAST in singles. Elizabeth Pendergast and Emily Flowers competed at the ITA Sectional Championships as a doubles team, with Pendergast also playing in the singles draw.
