Xavier travels to Cincinnati on Tuesday

QUEENS, N.Y. - Xavier baseball fell in the series finale against St. John's, 13-4, at Jack Kaiser Stadium on Sunday. The Musketeers moved to 19-18 overall and 5-4 in BIG EAST play.

Xavier took a 1-0 lead in the first, with Jake Lambdin leading off with a walk and moving to second after a single from Carter Hendrickson. Aedan Anderson loaded the bases with a single, and Clay Burdette was hit by a pitch to bring in a run.

St. John's tied it up in the bottom of the first with a run, but Xavier moved back in front in the second after Jake Lambdin was hit by a pitch and Carter Hendrickson homered to bring two runs, giving the Musketeers the 3-1 lead.

The Red Storm scored four runs in both the second and third innings, taking a 9-3 lead to the fourth. Xavier picked up another run after Jason Jelic led off with a triple and came home on a ground ball from Eddie Peters to cut the lead to 9-4.

St. John's added two runs in both the fifth and the eighth to set the final score at 13-4.

The Musketeers travel across town to face Cincinnati on Tuesday, April 15 at 6 p.m.

AT THE PLATE

Carter Hendrickson went 2-4 at the plate, finishing with two RBI and a run scored after hitting his fifth home run of the season.
Clay Burdette went 1-3 and picked up an RBI after being hit by a pitch.
Eddie Peters drove in an RBI with groundball.
Jake Lambdin got aboard with a pair of walks, scoring two runs.
Jason Jelic went 1-4, with a triple, and scored a run.
Aedan Anderson went 1-2 with two walks. Connor Misch also recorded a hit.

Luke Hoskins went 2.2 innings, allowing nine runs and striking out a pair.
Trevor Geddes entered in the third, going 1.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out two.
Jon Wylie pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up just one hit and walking a pair.
Jack DeTienne pitched the eighth, allowing two runs on one hit and one walk.
