Men's Tennis Advances to BIG EAST Semifinals with 4-3 Win Over Butler

Xavier advances to the BIG EAST Semifinals where the Musketeers will face No. 2 seed Creighton, set for a 1:00 p.m. start. Creighton is 15-10 on the season, and took a 4-0 sweep of Marquette in the Quarterfinals to advance. The two teams last faced each other in 2024, a 4-3 win for the Bluejays in Cincinnati.
The win marks the first time the Musketeers have advanced to the BIG EAST Semifinals since 2022.

In doubles, the Bulldogs took the first decision, taking the No. 2 court, 7-6 (6) against Christian Gonzalez and Alex Kotarski. Kyle Totorica and Charlie Temming combined for a 7-6 (4) win on the No. 3 court. Butler clinched the point on the No. 1 court with a 7-6 (5) win against Ryan Cahill and Pascal Mosberger.
Butler made it a 2-0 lead after taking the first singles decision, a 6-4, 6-2 win on the No. 1 court against Ryan Cahill.
Alex Kotarski took a 6-3, 6-4 win on the No. 3 court, his team-leading 13th singles win of the dual season, to get the Musketeers on the board.
Pascal Mosberger pulled the Musketeers even at 2-2 after taking a 6-3, 7-6 (2) win on the No. 2 court.
Christian Gonzalez picked up the win on the No. 4 court, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5, to give Xavier the lead at 3-2.
Butler used a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win on the No. 5 court against Kyle Totorica to pull even at 3-3.
Andrew Spurck clinched the match for the Musketeers on court No. 6, taking a 7-6 (2), 7-5 win, his 10th of the season, to set the score at 4-3.
