Women's Tennis Makes it Five in a Row with Sweep of Butler

CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis won a fifth-straight match and picked up a fourth win in BIG EAST play with a 7-0 sweep of Butler on Sunday at the Indianapolis Racquet Club.
Xavier returns home to host Marquette on Friday, April 11, in the final regular season match. The Musketeers will celebrate Senior Day following the match.
In doubles, Abby Nugent and Clara Owen collected their fifth-straight win on the No. 1 doubles court, 6-3, and Natalie Smitek and Emily Flowers combined for a 6-3 win on the No. 3 court to clinch the point.
In singles, Elizabeth Pendergast picked up her fifth-straight win, taking the No. 1 court, 6-3, 3-6, 11-9.
Abby Nugent won her 11th singles match of the dual season, taking No. 2, 6-2, 6-1.
Madeleine Rexroat took a 6-1, 6-4 win on the No. 3 court, her fifth-straight and 11th overall singles win.
Emily Flowers made it nine singles wins in a row, and a team-best 14 for the dual season, with a 6-1, 6-3 win on the No. 4 court.
Abigail Siminski won her 10th singles match of the spring, taking the No. 5 court, 6-2, 7-6 (3).
Natalie Smitek competed on court No. 6, taking a 6-1, 6-0 win, her third of the season.
