Musketeers Fall in Game One at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Xavier baseball fell, 7-1, in the opening game of the three-game series at Penn State on Thursday evening at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Musketeers moved to 30-24 on the season.
Penn State took a 4-0 lead in the first and held the four run advantage through four innings. In the fifth, Aedan Anderson and Jason Jelic each got on with a walk, and a single from Jake Lambdin loaded the bases. Carter Hendrickson reached on an error, letting Anderson score to get the Musketeers on the board and cut the lead to 4-1.
The Nittany Lions added a run in the seventh and a pair in the eighth to set the final score at 7-1.
Xavier continues the series with the Nittany Lions on Friday, set for a 6:00 p.m. start at FNB Field in Harrisburg, Pa.
