Women’s Basketball Adds Payton Richards to 2025-26 Roster

The guard joins the Musketeers from Lake Travis HS (TX)
CINCINNATI - Xavier head women's basketball coach Billi Chambers has added Payton Richards to the 2025-26 roster as a preferred walk-on. The 5-foot-4 guard joins the Musketeers from Lake Travis HS in Texas.
"Throughout our search for our preferred walk-on position, Payton immediately rose to the top," said Chambers. "Her maturity, focus on academic and athletic success and passion for the game of basketball truly set her apart. She is an incredibly hard worker, tough competitor and has a great personality that will fight right into the roster that we are building. We are excited to add Payton to the program!"
Richards was a three-year varsity letterwinner, averaging 14.2 points per game. She added 3.4 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
Richards was named to the 2025 THSCA All-State Team and earned Team MVP honors. She helped her team to a 59-35 record in three seasons.
Richards played club basketball for Dripping Springs AAU, Off Ball Threat Team and Lex Adidas Circuit.
