Men's Tennis Travels To Louisville for Wednesday Evening Match

Musketeers set for 5:00 p.m. start with Cardinals
CINCINNATIÂ - Xavier men's tennis heads to Louisville, Ky. to take on the Louisville Cardinals on Wednesday, January 21. The match with the Cards is set for a 5:00 p.m. start at Louisville's Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

LOUISVILLE
- The Cardinals are 4-1 on the season, opening the spring with a pair of wins over EKU. UofL opened a three-match weekend on Friday with a loss to Cornell before taking wins over Northwestern and Chicago State. Louisville with face Butler on Wednesday at noon, ahead of the match with Xavier.
- The Cardinals went 13-18 overall last season with a 2-11 record in ACC play. Louisville picked up a win over Georgia Tech in the opening round of the ACC Championship before falling to No. 17 Florida State in the second round.
- Louisville took a 4-1 win in last season's match. Alex Kotarski picked up a win in No. 6 singles.
LAST TIME OUT
- Xavier was last in action at No. 6 Ohio State on Sunday afternoon, falling 4-0 to the Buckeyes at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
- In doubles, the first decision came on the No. 3 court, with Kyle Totorica and Bode Cambell falling, 6-1, to Nikita Filin and Preston Stearns. Max Pettingell and Alex Kotarski, playing in the No. 1 spot, fell to tne No. 10 ranked pair of Alex Okonkwo and Alexander Bernard to secure the point for the Buckeyes.
- On the No. 1 singles court, Nick Herdoiza fell to No. 22 Jack Anthrop, 6-0, 6-1, to make it a 2-0 OSU lead. Samuel Frizelle fell, 6-0, 6-0, on the No. 2 court to No. 48 Alex Okonko to make it a 3-0 lead, and the Buckeyes clinched the match on the No. 5 court, with Bode Campbell falling, 6-1, 6-2, to Brandon Carpico.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- The Musketeers will head to Wisconsin next weekend, facing the University of Wisconsin on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 12 PM ET, then facing BIG EAST foe Marquette on Sunday, Jan. 24, also set for a noon ET start.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns a trio from last year's squad that collected 10 wins and advanced to the BIG EAST Semifinals, senior Kyle Totorica, and sophomores Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurck.
- The Musketeers added three transfers to the roster, senior Samuel Frizelle, who transferred from Florida Southern, junior Nick Herdoiza, who comes to Xavier from Northwestern, and Max Pettingell, a redshirt-freshman coming from Auburn.
- Xavier also added a pair of freshmen to the roster, Bode Campbell, a four-star recruit out of Bloomington, Minn., and Lukas Grossman, a four-star from Atlanta.
