Musketeers travel to Wisconsin for a pair of matches this weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Xavier men's tennis fell in a midweek match at Louisville, 5-0, on Wednesday evening at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The Musketeers will head to Wisconsin this weekend, facing the University of Wisconsin on Saturday, Jan. 23, at 12 PM ET, then facing BIG EAST foe Marquette on Sunday, Jan. 24, also set for a noon ET start.

The Match

In doubles, Louisville picked up a 6-0 decision on the No. 3 court against Andrew Spurck and Kyle Totorica, then clinched the point with a 6-4 win on the No. 1 court against Alex Kotarski and Max Pettingell, facing the No. 59 ranked pair from Louisville.

The Cardinals made it a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-1 win on the No. 1 singles court against Nick Herdoiza, then lead 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Lukas Grossman on the No. 6 court.

A 6-2, 6-3 win against Max Pettingell on the No. 2 court for No. 122 Hamza El Amine clinched the match for the Cardinals, and UofL picked up the final decision, a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win on the No. 4 court against Bode Campbell to set the final score at 5-0.
