Tre Carroll Was Honored By The BIG EAST For The Sixth Time This Season

Carroll leads the BIG EAST in scoring.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University graduate student Tre Carroll was named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll on Monday, the sixth time this season he has earned BIG EAST honors. Carroll was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after averaging 26.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks in games vs. Villanova on Feb. 17 and at Butler on Feb. 21. He shot 63.6 percent (21-33) from the field, including 58.3 percent (7-12) from 3-point range, for the week.
Carroll leads the BIG EAST in scoring at 18.6 ppg. and is second in field goal percentage at 50.9 percent. He is second on the team and 11th in the league in rebounding (5.9 rpg.) and first on the team and sixth in blocks (1.3 bpg.). Carroll not only leads the BIG EAST in scoring for all games (18.6 ppg.) but also for BIG EAST games (19.8 ppg.), bidding to become the first XU player to accomplish either feat.
Carroll also earned a spot on the Honor Roll on Dec. 22, Jan. 19, Jan. 26 and Feb. 2 in addition to being named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Dec. 8. He is one of four Musketeers to earn a BIG EAST honor so far this season, joining senior Malik Messina-Moore (Honor Roll on Jan. 12), sophomore Jovan Milićević (Honor Roll on Nov. 24 and Feb. 16) and senior Filip Borovićanin (Honor Roll on Dec. 1 and Dec. 15).
Xavier, 13-14 overall and 5-11 in the BIG EAST Conference, hits the road to take on Providence on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
