Musketeers take on Wolverines at Lindner Family Tennis Center
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's tennis is set to take on No. 67 Michigan on Tuesday, Feb. 24, set for a 10:00 a.m. start at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio.

MICHIGAN
- Michigan is 1-4 on the season, taking a win over Penn before taking on four-straight top 20 opponents, falling to No. 19 Vanderbilt, No. 15 Virginia, No. 4 Auburn and No. 8 NC State.
- The Wolverines went 27-5 overall last season with a 13-0 record in Big Ten play. The Wolverines fell in the Big Ten Tournament championship match and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship, taking wins over Youngstown State, Arizona State, No. 14 Texas, No. 20 Oklahoma State before falling to No. 2 Texas A&M in the national semifinals.
WEEKLY AWARDS
- After picking up a pair of singles wins over the weekend, Xavier women's tennis' Madeleine Rexroat was named BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week.
- Rexroat, a sophomore from Milton, Ga., went 2-0 in the No. 2 singles spot, picking up the highest ranked singles win in program history in Xavier's match at No. 28 Vanderbilt and helping Xavier to a sweep of Lipscomb.
- Against the Commodores on Friday, Rexroat took a 6-2, 4-6, 10-5 win over No. 15 Valeria Ray, the first time in program history a Musketeer has defeated a player ranked in the Top 20.
- In Xavier's sweep at Lipscomb on Saturday, she took 6-3, 6-2 win on the No. 2 court for made it a 3-0 advantage on the way to the 7-0 win.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- Xavier will play a pair of matches next weekend, traveling to West LaFayette, Ind., to face Purdue on Friday, Feb. 27 at 4:00 p.m.
- The Musketeers will return to the courts on Saturday, Feb.28, hosting Dayton at Camargo Racquet Club, set for a 5:00 p.m. start.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns eight players from last season's BIG EAST Championship winning squad, including senior Abby Nugent, a 2025 All-BIG EAST First Team selection, and 2025 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year and All-BIG EAST Second Team selection Madeleine Rexroat.Â
- Sophomore Clara Owen, who partnered with Nugent as one of the top doubles team in the country, returns, as well as seniors Abigail Siminski and Emily Flowers, juniors Ellie Brotherton and Sofia Mazzucato, and sophomore Natalie Smitek.
- The Musketeers added freshman Ella DeFord, a five-star recruit from Mount Pleasant, S.C., to the roster.
- Xavier finished the 2025 dual season at 14-9 and won the program's fifth-straight and sixth overall BIG EAST Championship, earning the program's sixth bid to the NCAA Championships.
