Women's Tennis Takes 4-2 Win Over Gonzaga

The Musketeers are set for a pair of matches next weekend, starting with a road trip to Lexington, Ky., to face Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 14, set for a 10:00 a.m. start.Â

Gonzaga took the 1-0 lead on the doubles point, with a 6-0 win over Emily Flowers and Natalie Smitek on the No. 3 court, and a 6-3 win against Abby Nugent and Clara Owen on the No. 1 court.
Madeleine Rexroat took a 6-4, 6-1 win on No. 2 singles to pull the Musketeers even at 1-1. The Bulldogs used a 7-5, 6-2 win on the No. 3 court against Emily Flowers to retake the lead at 2-1.
Natalie Smitek pulled the Musketeers even at 2-2 with a 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 win on No. 6. Abby Nugent put the Musketeers in front with a come-back win on No. 1, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Ella DeFord clinched the match on court No. 4, coming back to take a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 win to set the final score at 4-2.
Clara Owen was in a third set on court No. 5 when the match was decided.
