Musketeers will compete Sept. 24-27 at Coastal Georgia
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis travels to Brunswick, Ga., to take part in the UTR Sports College Circuit at Coastal Georgia, running Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27.
THE MUSKETEERS
- Xavier returns six players from last season's BIG EAST Semifinalist squad, including All-BIG EAST First Team selection Nick Herdoiza. Samuel Frizelle, Andrew Spurck, Max Pettingell, Bode Campbell and Lukas Grossman also return for the Musketeers.
- Tony Sifuentes, a freshman from San Antonio, Texas, joined the roster for the 2026-27 season.
- The 2026-27 season marks head coach Adam Cohen's first season leading the Musketeers' program.
LAST TIME OUT
- Xavier men's tennis opened up the Fall 2026 tournament schedule at the NKU Fall Invitational, an event including the host Norse, Dayton, Eastern Kentucky, Southern Indiana and Thomas More.
- Against Dayton on Friday, the Musketeers picked up three singles wins, with Max Pettingell (6-2, 6-2) and Bode Campbell (7-5, 6-1) taking two-set victories and Tony Sifuentes taking the win in a tie-breaking third set, 7-5,4-6,1-0 (7).
- The Musketeers swept all six singles matches against Southern Indiana on Friday, with Pettingell (6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (7)), Campbell (6-3, 6-7, 1-0(7)), and Sifuentes (6-2, 6-1) each picking up their second win of the weekend. Andrew Spurck (6-1, 6-0) and Lukas Grossman (6-2, 6-3) each picked up a two-set win and Samuel Frizelle came back to win a tie-breaker set, 1-6, 6-3, 1-0(5).
- Facing Thomas More on Saturday, the Musketeers again swept all six singles matches. Max Pettingell used a 7-6, 6-0 to go 3-0 in singles for the tournament. Bode Campbell's 6-1, 6-1 win put him at 3-0 in singles for the weekend. Tony Sifuentes finished the weekend undefeated in singles as well, taking a 6-0, 6-0 against TMU.
- Samuel Frizelle moved to 2-0 on the weekend with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Andrew Spurck (6-3, 6-0), Lukas Grossman (6-0, 6-1) each picked up a two-set win for their second singles win of the weekend.
- The Musketeers went 15-3 overall in singles for the weekend.
- In doubles, Nick Herdoiza and Tony Sifuentes combined to take a 6-1 win over NKU.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
- The Musketeers are back in action at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional, hosted at the Farm & Forge Club in College Grove, Tenn, running Thursday, October 8 through Tuesday, October 13.
