DALLAS - Xavier baseball took an early lead on a two-run homer by Conor Grammes, but Dallas Baptist stormed back for a 14-2 win on Saturday at Horner Ballpark.

Xavier improved to 9-17 with the loss, while Dallas Baptist moved to 16-9.

• Xavier returns to action at home on Tuesday, facing Eastern Kentucky at 3 p.m. at Hayden Field.

XU AT THE PLATE

• Nate Soria led XU with a 2-for-3 day at the plate.
• Conor Grammes (1-for-3, R, RBI) left the yard for the third time this season in the first inning.
• With his first inning homer, Conor Grammes extended his hitting streak to a team-best 11 games.
• Altenberger and Grammes are tied for the team lead with 11 game reached base streaks.
• Joe Gellenbeck (1-for-3) and Allbry Major (1-for-1) added hits for XU.

XU ON THE MOUND

• Freshman Allbry Major got the start on the mound, going five innings and allowing five earned runs while striking out three.
• Sophomore Conor Grammes pitched a scoreless sixth, but ran into trouble in the seventh before exiting and ultimately being charged with four earned runs.
• Freshman Griffin Lanoue came on to and got the last two outs of the game as four more runners cross for DBU.
