Men's Tennis Set to Compete in Louisville Invitational

CINCINNATI – Xavier men's tennis returns to action this weekend at the Louisville Invitational, hosted by the University of Louisville. The Louisville Invitational will take place Oct. 11^th, 12^th and 13^th at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

Last fall, Xavier's men collected 23 wins and had one competitor advance to the consolation final in all singles flights at the Louisville Invite. Xavier fell to the Cardinals last season on Feb. 12, 2-5. In regular season competition, the Musketeers are 0-6 against Louisville. Each of the previous six matches played against Louisville were on the road.

"The Louisville tournament is going to be challenging," said head coach Doug Matthews, "but I think a good goal of ours is to win more matches than we lose as a team."

Matthews also said it would be great to have another Musketeer win their flight, just as Jan Vrba did last week at the Purdue Invitational. "If we can have a winning record and win a flight, I think that would be a great weekend for the guys."
