Men's Soccer Falls to Providence on Senior Day

Senior Samson Sergi scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season in the loss
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's soccer surrendered two late goals on Saturday night, falling to Providence, 2-1, on Senior Day. The Musketeers dropped to 8-7-1 (3-5 BIG EAST), while the Friars improved to 11-5 (5-3 BIG EAST).
34' | XU | Samson Sergi gave the Musketeers an early 1-0 lead, dribbling past the Friar defense in the box to finish from the left. The ball was played into the box by Jacob Goodall from the left.
81' | PC | Paulo Lima scored his fifth goal of the season off a corner kick from Gil Santos.
87' | PC | Ramzi Qawasmy scored his second goal of the season on a header just outside the goal. The ball was played by Joao Serrano who recorded an assist on the play.
• Xavier did not allow a goal in the first half. The Musketeers have only allowed one, first-half goal this season.
• Senior Samson Sergi now has a team-leading nine goals this season. The forward now has 28 career goals to rank fifth in program history. He ranks tied for first in the BIG EAST in goals.
