CINCINNATI - Xavier men's tennis fell narrowly, 4-3, to Richmond on Saturday evening at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Facility. Xavier returns to action on Thursday, February 21 when the Musketeers face Louisville at 6 p.m. on the road.

THE MATCH

In doubles, the Musketeers claimed the point with wins in the No. 2 spot, 6-3, for Connor LaFavre and Matthew Graft, and in the No. 3 spot, 6-4 for Jan Vrba, and Michael Lee. Brett Winters and Jack Dykema fell, 6-2, in the No. 1 spot.

Xavier claimed two singles points, in the No. 1 spot, with Brett Winters winning 6-3, 2-6, 6-2.

Matthew Graft also claimed the No. 3 spot, 6-4, 6-1.

Richmond took three singles points in two sets, the No. 2 spot, 7-6 (5), 6-2 over Jack Dykema, the No. 4 spot, 7-6 (4), 6-2 over Connor LaFavre, and the No. 5 spot, 6-4, 6-3, over Jan Vrba.

The No. 6 spot came down to three sets. Michael Lee took the first set, 7-5, but fell, 7-5, 6-3, in the final two sets to give Richmond four points for the match.
