Musketeers return to action on Friday, April 5 against Butler

ORLANDO - Xavier men's tennis closed out its trip to the UTSA National Campus with a BIG EAST match, falling to Creighton, 6-1, on Thursday afternoon. Xavier moved to 6-12 on the season and 0-4 in BIG EAST play.

THE MATCH

In doubles, Matthew Graft and Connor LaFavre picked up their third straight win, taking the No. 2 doubles spot, 6-1, but the Bluejays came back to win the No. 3 spot, 6-2, over Jan Vrba and Michael Lee, and the No. 1 spot, 6-3, over Jack Dykema and Brett Winters.

In singles play, Michael Lee picked up a point for the Musketeers in the No. 5 spot, winning 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-2), 10-8.

Brett Winters fell in the No. 1 spot, 7-6 (10-8), 6-4. Jack Dykema fell, 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 2 spot.

Matthew Graft forced a third set to go to tiebreakers in the No. 3 spot, but fell, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (10-5).

Connor LaFavre fell, 6-3, 6-4, in the No. 4 spot. Jan Vrba fell in the No. 6 spot, 7-5, 6-1.
