
Baseball Falls Behind Early in Loss To Evansville in Series Finale

CINCINNATI - Xavier baseball closed out the first home series of the season with a 10-2 loss over the Evansville Purple Aces on Sunday afternoon. The Musketeers, who took two of three against Evansville, fall to 8-14 on the year.Â
The Musketeers trailed early in the game when EU went up 2-0 in the top of the third. Xavier found a spark in the bottom of the fifth on a Jake Shepski RBI single, scoring Conor Grammes to cut the lead back to one, 2-1. UE added runs in the final three innings, while Xavier's scoring drought lasted until a Luke Franzoni RBI single, scoring Natale Monastra in the eighth.
