Men's Tennis Begins Spring Season

CINCINNATI – Xavier men's tennis returns to action on Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19 as the Musketeers take on Ball State and Ohio State. The match against Ball State is set to take place at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club at 5 p.m. Xavier will then hit the road to take on the Buckeyes in Columbus at 11 a.m.
The Musketeers will look to improve upon a 6-15 overall record last season. Wins last season came against Chicago State, Wright State, Northern Kentucky, Cleveland State, Howard and UT Tyler.

THE OPPONENT: BALL STATE |
- The Musketeers will open their spring season hosting Ball State. The Cardinals finished last season with a 12-14 record and went 2-8 on the road.
- Ball State defeated Xavier narrowly last season, 4-3.
- Xavier is 2-7 against Ball State historically

THE OPPONENT: OHIO STATE |
- Ohio State finished last season 32-3 overall and went 11-0 in BIG 10 Conference play.
- Xavier and Ohio State were scheduled to play last year, however, the match was canceled.
- Ohio State received a No. 1 seed in last year's NCAA Tournament and fell to North Carolina, 4-2, in the fourth round of the tournament.
