Men's Tennis Takes on Georgetown and Thomas More Friday

CINCINNATI – Xavier men's tennis returns to action on Friday, February 14th as they take on Georgetown and Thomas More. The Musketeers will face off against Georgetown at 1 p.m. and will return to action at 6 p.m. against Thomas More. Both matches will take place at Eastern Hills Indoor Tennis Club.

THE OPPONENT: GEORGETOWN |
- Xavier will face the Hoyas in their first BIG EAST matchup of the season.
- The Musketeers fell to Georgetown, 3-4, last season on Feb. 10.
- Xavier is 2-3 against Georgetown dating back to 2014. Xavier's last victory over the Hoyas came in 2017 when they defeated Georgetown on the road.
- Georgetown has started the season 3-3 overall and have gone 2-3 in road matches so far this season.

- Xavier men's tennis defeated IUPUI, 7-0, on the road Wednesday afternoon.
- In doubles, the Musketeers opened the match with a 6-2 victory as Matthew Graft and Shashank Reddy claimed the No. 2 spot. Xavier grabbed the doubles point after Jan Vrba and Michael Lee defeated IUPUI, 6-4. Brett Winters and Srdan Pejic trailed narrowly in the No. 1 spot when the doubles point was decided.
- In singles, the Musketeers began with a 6-0, 6-1 win from Aaron Thompson in the No. 5 spot. Xavier grabbed their third point after Graft picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win in the No. 3 spot. Xavier secured the win with a 6-4, 6-1 victory in the No. 6 spot, courtesy of Jake Zipoli. Xavier continued to dominate in the No. 1 spot when Brett Winters defeated IUPUI, 7-5, 6-4. Pejic picked up a 4-6, 6-0, 10-4 win in the No. 2 spot, and Reddy closed out the match with a 7-5, 6-4 victory in the No. 4 spot.
